“Working with GM SISCO has been a dream and they built us our dream home”

“I have heard horror stories about building a home anywhere so building a home in Mexico initially did produce some anxiety on my part. I have even been told that it sometimes ends in divorce. Well, Jim and I got married during the building of our home! What can I say, working with GM SISCO has been a dream and they have built us our dream home.

GM SISCO have a great eye, know how to put together a great team and understand all aspects of construction. They have hands-on experience with construction in the US so they have been very helpful in explaining the differences in construction to Jim, my husband, who was a general contractor for a brief period in California.

The most common statement I heard about GM SISCO before we hired them was their being very honest. I cannot agree more. In addition, they are very competent, kind-hearted, patient, genuine and astute. They understand local rules and regulations for Patzcuaro and the surrounding communities, the need to hire local workers whenever possible and they also know how to deal with the local authorities. In addition, they already have good relationships with many officials. They're not arrogant in any sense of the word. Their humility resulted in their being able to navigate their way through the local culture of Zirahuen without incident while building our home. This cultural understanding coupled with their ability to communicate productively resulted in a very smooth building process for us.

Being an absent owner was not a hindrance for us. When my husband took a bad fall and was incapacitated for a long time, GM SISCO communicated with us regularly and we felt very comfortable leaving the work and coordination up to them. When we were able to go to the job site, we were never disappointed. On the contrary, we were always pleasantly surprised.

During the building process, GM SISCO gave us options so that we could make choices regarding price, quality, etc. I felt like we got a lesson from them in Introduction to Building A House in Mexico! In addition, GM SISCO provided a warranty in the signed contract before the work began which they have upheld.

I am bilingual so our choices of a contractor were wide, but we still chose GM SISCO who have bilingual personnel. I can't say enough about how highly we recommend them, not only for the abilities of their contractors, but also for their work and ethics.

“GM SISCO and their crew of skilled workers saved the day for us! ”

“Building a house is almost always a stressful process. Building a house in Mexico is a special challenge when you aren't fluent in the language, are unfamiliar with local construction methods, and are limited by the selection of products.

We had bad experiences with three builders before we were introduced to the husband-wife team of GM SISCO. Their honesty, creativity, cheerfulness, attention to detail, and adherence to site control and safety finally brought our house to completion. GM SISCO and their crew of skilled workers saved the day for us! Through the process we became friends and will rely on them to help maintain the house as time passes."

“These men are polite, considerate and friendly, and have put up with our daily presence with good humor."

"As of this date, September 9, 2010, our house is under construction by GM SISCO, and it has been, for us, a delightful experience. We appreciate the dedicated attention, cooperation and imaginative design and creativity input from GM SISCO. Churchill designed the house and GM SISCO and Andrew contributed to refining and improving on the design.

The house is about half way there---roof is on and much of the work is moving inside. There has been close attention paid to every detail. We also want to comment about the crews working on the house. These men are polite, considerate and friendly, and have put up with our daily presence with good humor. GM SISCO is always ready to answer any questions and explains to us every step that is taken and why. Could not have had a better building experience.”

“After two winters of renovations we see that GM SISCO back up what they promise. ”

"Three years ago, my wife and I bought an adobe house in Zirahuen in need of much repair. We speak little Spanish, and were not familiar with the area. While searching for contractors GM SISCO was recommended by several people.

Upon meeting GM SISCO we found them to be extremely knowledgeable, and friendly. Of course the fact that they are bi-lingual was of great importance. After two winters of renovations we see that GM SISCO backs up what they promise; They arrive with their crew on the date they say they will, stick to their estimates, and their crew are talented, hardworking, and enjoyable to be around.

We have found GM SISCO willing to spend as much time with us as needed to explain the work that is in progress and answer questions we might have. My wife and I are pleased with the quality of the workmanship, and look forward to working with GM SISCO and their crew again in the future. As we've worked with GM SISCO we've come to realize they are gifted contractors and a good friends."

"GM SISCO worked at Crefal, the Center of Regional Cooperation for the Education of Adults in Latin American and the Caribbean. They worked with us from 2005-2006, remodeling the Interagency Relations building of Cooperation and Research. With all of their responsibilities, GM SISCO served us with complete competence. I have no problem whatsoever in recommending them as an honest and hardworking person. They have great professionalism and developed good relationships in the workplace."
